DateFree.com is a global online dating and social networking website that is
designed to bring dating and non-dating friends together into one community.
Users can network with new and existing friends, post pictures, email each other
and just have simple fun with no out of pocket expense. This is not the typical
"You get what you pay for" scenario. Visitors and members can expect a
technically comprehensive, user friendly website with a lot of cool features. We
believe as a member, you should be able to come and go as you please;
participate whether you are single or attached and not be burdened with
subscription or miscellaneous fees. The only things we ask of our members are
that they invite their friends, keep the site clean and safe and occasionally
when they see an appealing advertisement to click on it and check it out. The
most important rule, of course, is that you must have FUN!
DateFree was founded in October 2005 by a couple of friends who wanted to have
fun and make a little money while they were doing it. Philip Ferreira, CEO and
Technical Genius, is no novice at running successful web companies. Phil and his
business partner, Cameron Clifford, Operations Guru and in house "Online Dating
Expert," currently run several other successful web companies. They wanted to
take their experience and start a company that was a little less serious and a
lot more fun. Crystal Ferreira, Phil's fiancée (wife as of August 4th, 2006),
joined the two and they came up with the idea of a free site that is fun for
dating and non-dating adults alike. Crystal and Phil are always trying to look
for a lady friend for Cameron so they can do "couples" activities, and thought,
why not start their own dating website where they can play match maker for their
single friends.
Our Mission
The mission of DateFree is to create an online dating environment that is safe,
fun and free. We will accomplish these goals by offering a technologically
comprehensive and competitive dating website that is completely free of charge.
To ensure success, we will focus on customer service and empowering our members
to have fun within the boundaries of our User Agreement and Privacy Statements.
Revenues for DateFree.com will be generated by advertisements for products and
services targeted at the member community.
Philip Ferreira (Founder)
President
Phil studied Business Management and Computer Science at the University of
Northern Colorado and St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. He has been
developing Internet-based applications since 1996. Phil became an Internet
entrepreneur in 1998 when he founded 321Gone, Inc. During the next 3-years Phil
grew 321Gone.com to over 100,000 registered members, and millions of
consumer-to-consumer auctions. Phil was solely responsible for the management
and technical issues that accompany a fast-growing online community.
In
2002, Phil launched another proprietary online auction platform which was later
renamed MyCar.com. Using his past auction experience and online expertise, Phil
designed the first automotive system whereby new car dealers bid against each
other. Phil coined this proprietary design a "New Car Auction" and to-date
thousands of U.S. consumers have saved tens of millions of dollars on their new
car purchase, without the headache that normally accompanies the car buying
process. MyCar.com has also connected millions of U.S. consumers with new and
used car dealers.

After building several other online companies, including HomeBuying.com, Phil
decided to go back to his first Internet thrill, developing online communities.
In 2006, he built and launched DateFree.com. DateFree is a free online dating
website with technology and features comparable to the big companies, with the
added twist of friends networking. His personal mission for DateFree is to build
a fun website where people from all over the world can network with their
friends and enjoy online dating in a safe environment.
Crystal Ferreira (Co-Founder)
Vice President, Marketing and Public Relations
Prior to joining DateFree in May 2006, Crystal spent 11 years leading strategic
sales and marketing initiatives for start up and public companies in the
Networking and Telecommunications sector. Crystal most recently resigned as
Director of Channel and Inside Sales at MRV Communications to join Phil in
launching their dream of a website designed for their friends to find dates
while having fun with their non-dating friends.
Prior to MRV, Crystal was Sr. Manager of Marketing and Sales at Ethernet over
Copper start up, Actelis Networks, where she was responsible for developing and
implementing the marketing and sales strategy for global resale partners.
Crystal also spent a year at Turin Networks where she was instrumental in
developing key OEM and sales partnerships. Crystal came to Turin as her previous
company, Vpacket, an innovator in VOIP technology was acquired by Zhone
Technologies. Crystal was recruited at the inception of Vpacket and was integral
in the development of key business development and marketing strategies.
Crystal started her career in technology at Ascend Communications in Inside
Sales and was shortly promoted manager of the team. Prior to the acquisition of
Ascend by Lucent Technologies, Crystal was promoted again to Manager of North
American Channel Programs where she developed and implemented the Channel sales
and marketing strategy that grew channel revenues to over $100 million.
Crystal obtained her Bachelor’s degree at Clarion University of PA.
Cameron Clifford (Co-Founder)
Vice President, Business Operations
Cameron obtained a B.S. in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance from
Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management. Cameron has worked in
several industries including the auto insurance, telecommunication, and staffing
services industries. Cameron built and started BuyMuscle.com in 1998, an e-tailer
that sold various weight loss and sport supplement products throughout the
world.
Cameron joined the MyCar.com team in May of 2002, during the design period of
the business model and proprietary software. Cameron has helped design, refine,
and implement MyCar.com's customer service processes to faciliate and improve
relations between auto dealerships, consumers, and MyCar.com. Cameron's business
insight has led to MyCar.com's common sense approach, a key factor in the
company's continued success. In addition to operational management, Cameron's
professional skills include SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Rich Media
Technologies.
